aFe Direct-Fit Cold Air Intake System with Pro Dry S Filter Installation

Today on this 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 series with a 5.3 liter engine we will be installing the AFE air intake system, part number AFE51-11752. The first thing we are going to do is remove the engine cover. It pops right off since it is a press fit. Next, we are going to loosen the clamp here that is attaching the tube to the intake housing and throttle body. We will do the same thing on the clamp on the other side. Next we are going to move over and disconnect the wiring harness from the sensor. Then we are going to remove the plastic line coolant brace from the intake tube. You can see this is a push rivet type connector. I an going to use a rivet removal tool, if you do not have one of these you can use a flat head screwdriver. Just slide it in there and separate the two. 1:00 more
